FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Paginote?

Paginote is a modern sheet music reader for iPad. Import PDFs from Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or Dropbox — or scan sheet music with your camera — then organise everything into a searchable library, build setlists for rehearsals and gigs, annotate with Apple Pencil, and perform in a distraction-free Stage Mode with hands-free page turns.

Which devices does Paginote work on?

Paginote is built for iPad only. It's designed from the ground up for iPadOS, Apple Pencil & Apple Pencil Pro.

Is Paginote free?

Yes. Paginote is free to download and use.

Do I need an account?

Yes. You sign in with your Apple or Google account so your library, setlists, and settings stay attached to you. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.

Does Paginote work offline?

Yes. Every score you import is copied onto your iPad, so your whole library is available with no internet connection — in the practice room, backstage, or on stage.

Does my library sync across devices?

Yes. Your library, setlists, and annotations sync automatically through your private iCloud account, so they stay up to date across your iPads. Syncing happens directly between your device and Apple — never through Paginote's servers.

What files can I import?

Paginote imports PDF files. Add them from Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or Dropbox, scan pages with your camera, or paste a link to download one. As you import, tag each score by title, artist, composer, genre, and BPM so it's easy to find later.

Can I turn pages hands-free?

Yes. In Stage Mode you can turn pages with a Bluetooth foot pedal or a deliberate eye blink, with an adjustable cooldown — or a simple tap on the side of the screen. The screen stays on the whole time so it never dims mid-piece.

Can I annotate my scores?

Yes — annotation is a core feature. Draw fingerings, dynamics, and cues directly on your scores with Apple Pencil. Paginote captures full pressure and tilt and rejects your palm, and it never changes the original PDF — your notes are saved per page.

Does Paginote support Apple Pencil Pro?

Yes. Paginote is built for Apple Pencil, including Apple Pencil Pro. Drawing is low-latency and fully pressure- and tilt-sensitive, so annotating feels like ink on paper, with reliable palm rejection.

When is Paginote launching?

Paginote is coming soon to the App Store, for iPad. This site is your first look — check back for the launch date.
